Queen Mushroom Sandwich

A quick, nutritious breakfast with deliciously melted cheese.

Ingredients:

  • Sandwich bread: 2 slices

  • Queen Mushrooms: 100g

  • Sliced cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella)

  • Unsalted butter

  • Salt, ground black pepper, minced garlic.

Instructions:

  1. Sauté the mushrooms: Wash and thinly slice the mushrooms. Melt a little butter in a pan, sauté the minced garlic, then add the mushrooms. Stir-fry over high heat so they don’t release too much water. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. Prep the bread: Spread a thin layer of butter on the outer sides of both bread slices.

  3. Assemble: Flip the unbuttered side up. Layer 1 slice of cheese, the sautéed mushrooms, and another slice of cheese. Top with the second slice of bread (buttered side facing out).

  4. Grill/Toast: Place the sandwich in a Panini press or a pan over low heat. Press down lightly and toast until both sides are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese has fully melted.

  5. Finish: Cut the sandwich in half and enjoy it with some fresh lettuce.
